What is ÔTimesJapanÕ font? Font name: ÒTimesJapanÓ Created by modifying the ÒTimesÓ font This font enables you to type the macron above letters so as to show the long vowels in romanized Japanese. *** Important: View this document (the Word 4 version included in the package) after installing the font to see the difference in the way the examples look. If you have PageMaker or any other layout application where you may want to use documents created with the use of the font, import this document into that application and see that the font works in any application. You can also use it right off the menu in any application that has font selection capability. Here is how it works: You can use this font whenever there is a need to type the romanized version of Japanese words. To type long Ò¿Ó press and hold the ÒoptionÓ key and type ÒoÓ To type long Ò´Ó press and hold the ÒoptionÓ key and type ÒyÓ To type long ÒŒÓ press and hold the ÒoptionÓ key and type ÒaÓ To type any other long vowel (here I mean ÔiÕ, ÔeÕ, ÔAÕ, ÔIÕ, ÔUÕ, ÔEÕ, ÔOÕ, but also ÔaÕ, ÔoÕ, ÔuÕ) 1. press and hold the ÒoptionÓ key and type ÒuÓ first at this point you will see nothing on the screen. 2. Then type the desired letter (do not press the option key when typing the letter itself). Now your letter will appear with the macron above it. You should see the following: •, ‘, €, ì, †, è, …, Œ, ¿, ´. That is all. Enjoy. If you find this font useful please let me know about it.
